We specialize in oval racing photography in and around    N. Nevada . Our goal is to help support and promote the sport of auto racing. We're"old skool" photographers who still use traditional 35mm color print film, as we believe it yields a better, overall picture quality than the digital print format.

The staff at the beautiful American Valley Speedway  in scenic Quincy California has really stepped up their schedule this year , with the return of the "Golden State Challenge" winged 410 Sprint Cars after the successful debut of the traveling series last year. The wild and woolly sprint cars are set to invade Quincy on May 3,  with what will undoubtebly be an extremely exciting show.  The Thunderous "Western All Stars" Dirt Latemodels will be making their inaugural appearance to the awesome facility in the Sierra pines on May 31,  for what should be a very interesting event ,  given the speed and size of the cars,  and their back 'em in style.  Also making their AVS debut is the ultra competitive "Civil War" winged 360 Sprint Cars. This traveling series will without a doubt draw the largest field of sprint cars to ever grace the wonderful AVS facility , and will put on a show not to be forgotten .  The event is scheduled for June 21, and should pack the pits with upwards of 40 cars!  Make plans to catch these and all of the rest of the events at AVS this year!  You won't be dissappointed!   For more info , visit the speedway site at : americanvalleyspeedway.com
USAC/CRA sprints and USAC midgets set to invade Calistoga for big doubleheader
For the first time ever, the high powered, wingless, 410 c.i. USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will invade the  famed 1/2 mile dirt oval known as Calistoga Speedway,  and they'll be joined by their little bretheren, the mighty USAC "Western States" Midgets.  Wingless Sprint Car racing has been absent from the beautiful and historic facility,  which is nestled in the heart of the N. California wine country,  for           over 22 years, with the last event being a NARC sanctioned program on Sept. 28, 1985.                         Jac Haudenschild was the feature winner. The midgets have been on an 11 + year hiatus, with         their last event occurring on July 6, 1996. The star studded  field included feature winner Billy Boat, eventual USAC National midget champ Kenny Irwin jr., Tony Stewart, Jason Leffler, and Jay Drake to name a few. Being  the oldest racetrack still active in California, with the first openwheel race occurring in 1937,  it is only fitting that the traditional  sprints and midgets return to this wonderful facility. The two-day show will showcase some of the best openwheel talent on the West Coast, and will hopefully be the start of an annual trek up North for the SoCal based sprint car traveling series, and the Western midget series. Make your plans now to catch this history making event, slated to push off on  August 30, and 31, 2008!  For more info, visit their website at : usacracing.com

1/18/2008 - RFR 2008 Expansion
During recent months Reno-Fernley Raceway management has been reviewing and adjusting the business plan for future growth of the facility and the future of the racing industry in the Reno area. Our ultimate goal is to bring major professional racing events to our community with the benefits that come with such events.
Through discussions with national sanctioning bodies and the time frame that Reno-Fernley Raceway has to work with it has been decided that our focus and efforts will be concentrated on Road Course and facility development. We also strive to establish long-term relationships with national organizations and sanctioning bodies to bring new end exciting racing events to both the Oval Track and Road Course. To accomplish this goal, we will begin expansion of our Oval Track facility into a larger paved track and examine the potential of building a new Clay Oval at another site on the motorsports complex.
As such, the Clay/Dirt Oval will be closed for the 2008 season as these additional improvements to the Motorsports Complex are undertaken. We apologize for the late notice and understand the inconvenience it may cause to our dedicated fans, drivers, and sponsors. We would like to say thank you. We greatly appreciate the years of support you have given the Clay Oval and Reno-Fernley Raceway. Without your support and dedication we could not have grown to where we are now.
We invite everyone to be a part of the largest season to date at the Road Course and Drag Strip. It will host events every weekend from March through October, including the Reno Historic Races, Sports Car Club of America National Road Race, Motorcycle Racing with United States Grand Prix Racers Union, Hot August Nights Drag Racing, and many more exciting public events.
Reno-Fernley Raceway facility improvements are planned to be completed by early 2009 and the Paved Oval Track will reopen shortly thereafter. It will introduce a schedule filled with an exciting series of nationally sanctioned race groups. We look forward to seeing you there.
